Need Any Help ?
0330 1454321
A psychiatric or addiction emergency does not wait for office hours. It does not give families time to research their options or make careful decisions. It arrives without warning, and in those moments, what a family needs is not a brochure. They need someone who picks up the phone, understands what is happening, and gets there.
FCRC’s dedicated emergency patient transfer ambulance service exists for exactly these moments. Staffed by trained medical personnel and coordinated by our clinical team around the clock, we bring safe, dignified, medically supervised transport to patients who need immediate care.
What Is the FCRC Emergency Patient Transfer Ambulance Service?
Many families find themselves in a situation where a loved one needs immediate professional care but is unable or unwilling to travel independently. Perhaps they are in acute withdrawal. Perhaps a mental health episode has made the journey unsafe. Perhaps the family simply does not know how to manage the situation alone.
Our emergency patient transfer service bridges that gap. We come to the patient’s location, carry out an initial clinical assessment on arrival, stabilise the patient where needed, and transport them safely and with full dignity to our facility in Bani Gala, Islamabad for immediate admission and treatment.
Every transfer is accompanied by trained medical staff. Every journey is coordinated directly with our clinical team at FCRC so that admission and any necessary emergency treatment are ready and waiting on arrival. There is no gap between the ambulance and the clinic. It is one seamless process from the moment we receive your call.
Round-the-Clock Availability
We do not keep office hours. Our emergency line is answered by a trained team member at any hour of the day or night, including weekends and public holidays.
Medically Staffed Transfers
Every ambulance carries qualified medical personnel trained in psychiatric and addiction emergencies. Patients are assessed, stabilised, and monitored throughout the journey.
Pre-Admission Coordination
Our clinical team is informed the moment a transfer is initiated. By the time the patient arrives, their admission assessment, room, and initial care plan are already in motion.
Complete Confidentiality
From the first call to arrival at our facility, every aspect of the transfer is handled with absolute discretion. No information is shared without the family's explicit consent.
When Should You Call for an Emergency Patient Transfer Ambulance?
If you are unsure whether the situation requires emergency transfer, call us anyway. Our clinical team will help you assess what is needed. You do not need to be certain before picking up the phone.
That said, the following situations are the ones in which families most commonly need our transfer service:
- Acute withdrawal: A family member is experiencing severe withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, or other substances. Withdrawal can be life-threatening without medical supervision and should never be managed at home without clinical support.
- Psychiatric crisis: A loved one is experiencing a severe mental health episode including psychosis, mania, a serious depressive episode, or active suicidal ideation, and is not safe to travel without medical accompaniment.
- Overdose recovery: Following an overdose event that has been initially stabilised, a medically supervised transfer to a residential treatment facility is the safest next step.
- Refusal to seek help: In some cases, a family member is willing to accept treatment but is too unwell, too frightened, or too destabilised to travel independently. Our transfer team manages the journey so the patient does not have to.
- Post-hospital discharge: A family member has been discharged from a hospital following a psychiatric or medical event and needs safe transfer directly into a residential rehabilitation programme.
- Deteriorating situation at home: You have been trying to manage a loved one’s crisis at home and the situation is worsening. You need clinical help, now, and you need it to come to you.
You do not need to wait until things reach their worst before calling. Our team is here to help you assess the situation and decide the right next step, even if that means talking things through before any decision is made.

A Note to Families
Calling an ambulance for a family member in a psychiatric or addiction crisis can feel like a betrayal. It can feel like an escalation. It can feel like you are making things worse rather than better.
You are not. You are doing the only thing that actually helps.
Every day that serious addiction or a psychiatric crisis goes without proper clinical treatment is a day in which the situation deepens. The fear of acting is understandable. The cost of not acting is real. Our transfer service exists so that taking action is as straightforward as a single phone call, and so that from that moment forward, you are not carrying this alone.
Our team has supported hundreds of families through exactly this moment. We understand what it feels like. And we know what comes next, because we have walked this road with families before yours and we will walk it with you.
Following Transfer: What Treatment Looks Like at FCRC
Emergency transfer is the first step, not the last. Once a patient is safely admitted to our facility, they receive the full spectrum of FCRC’s clinical care.
- Medical Detoxification carried out under 24-hour clinical supervision for patients in withdrawal.
- Psychiatric Assessment and Treatment led by board-certified consultant psychiatrists for patients presenting with mental health conditions.
- Dual Diagnosis Treatment for patients where addiction and mental health conditions are intertwined and require integrated care.
- Individual and Group Psychotherapy forming the therapeutic core of the residential programme.
- Family Therapy and Support actively involving family members in the recovery process with their consent.
- Aftercare Planning beginning before discharge to ensure that recovery is supported long after the residential programme ends.
Every patient admitted through our emergency transfer service receives the same standard of comprehensive, personalised care as any other FCRC patient. The urgency of their arrival does not diminish the depth of the support they receive.

frequently asked question
What if my family member refuses to go?
This is one of the most common situations families face. Our transfer team has extensive experience arriving at homes where the patient is resistant or frightened. We do not use force. We use clinical skill, patience, and a human approach that has helped many patients move from refusal to willingness. Our team will advise you on how to prepare for the conversation before we arrive.
Will the neighbors know what is happening?
Our vehicles and team are discreet. We understand that privacy matters enormously to Pakistani families and we conduct every transfer with that understanding. We do not arrive with unnecessary noise, visible markings, or anything that would draw attention. The transfer is managed with the same confidentiality as all other aspects of FCRC’s work.
Can a family member travel with the patient?
In most cases, yes. Having a trusted family member present during transfer can be reassuring for the patient and is something our team actively accommodates where it is clinically appropriate. We will advise you on this during the initial call.
How quickly can the team arrive?
Response time depends on location. Our team will give you an honest estimated arrival time on the call and keep you updated throughout. We move as quickly as possible. In the meantime, our team stays on the line with you to provide guidance on managing the situation until we arrive.
What information do I need to have ready when I call?
You do not need to have everything figured out before you call. The more information you can share, the better. This includes the nature of the situation, any substances involved, any known medical history, and the address. But if you do not have all of this, call anyway. We will ask the questions we need as we go.
