For women in Pakistan seeking help with addiction or mental health, the barriers to reaching out can feel impossible to overcome. Social stigma is more intense. Family pressure is more complex. The fear of being seen, judged, or exposed is more acute. And the absence of genuinely safe, gender appropriate treatment environments keeps many women suffering in silence for years longer than they should.

At Federal City Rehab Clinic, we understand these realities. We do not minimise them. We have built our Female Rehabilitation Programme specifically around them.

FCRC’s Female Programme is a fully private, all female care environment where women can access comprehensive addiction treatment and mental health support without fear of judgement, without compromise on their dignity, and without exposure to the social consequences they fear. Every clinician, every therapist, every member of support staff involved in a female patient’s care is female. Every aspect of the programme is designed around the specific needs, pressures, and experiences of Pakistani women.

Your struggle is valid. Your need for help is real. And the courage it takes to seek it is something we honour completely.

Why Women Need a Dedicated Rehabilitation Programme

Gender matters in addiction treatment. This is not simply a matter of comfort or preference. It is a clinical reality supported by decades of research.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), women develop addiction more quickly than men, experience more severe health consequences at lower levels of use, and face a distinct set of psychological and social barriers to seeking treatment. Women are also significantly more likely to have experienced trauma, abuse, or domestic violence as contributing factors in their substance use.

In Pakistan, these universal realities are compounded by specific cultural pressures. A woman who acknowledges an addiction or mental health struggle risks consequences that men in the same situation typically do not face to the same degree. Family reputation, marriage prospects, custody of children, and social standing are all perceived to be at stake. These fears are not irrational. They are grounded in the realities of Pakistani social life.

A rehabilitation programme that does not account for these realities cannot serve Pakistani women effectively. FCRC’s Female Programme is built on this understanding from the ground up.

Who Our Female Programme Serves

FCRC’s Female Rehabilitation Programme serves women across the full spectrum of addiction and mental health need.

Women struggling with drug addiction including ICE, heroin, cannabis, cocaine, and other illicit substances. Women dependent on prescription medications including xanax, tramadol, and pregabalin, often having developed dependency through legitimate medical use. Women with alcohol use disorder, a condition that is far more prevalent among Pakistani women than is publicly acknowledged. Women dealing with mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and schizophrenia. Women with dual diagnosis presentations, where addiction and mental health conditions co-occur and must be treated simultaneously.

We also serve women who are not certain whether they have a clinical problem but know that something is wrong. Uncertainty is not a barrier to reaching out. Our admissions team will help you understand your situation clearly and honestly, without pressure.

how we work ?

Our Female Rehabilitation Programme

FCRC’s drug addiction treatment programme is built around a clear, clinically proven framework — personalised to the individual needs of every patient.

01

Confidential Initial Assessment

Every journey at FCRC begins with a confidential clinical assessment conducted entirely by female clinical professionals. This covers the patient’s substance use history, physical health, mental health, trauma history, family circumstances, and personal goals.

For many women, this is the first time they have ever spoken honestly about their situation to anyone. Our clinical team receives these conversations with the care and respect they deserve. Nothing shared in assessment is ever disclosed to any person without explicit written consent.

02

Medically Supervised Detoxification

Where detoxification is required, it is managed under 24/7 medical supervision by FCRC’s clinical team. For female patients, detox protocols are calibrated to account for the physiological differences in how women metabolise substances and experience withdrawal.

Medical detoxification at FCRC is conducted in a safe, private, and closely monitored environment. Our clinical team manages withdrawal symptoms, prevents complications, and ensures the patient’s comfort and safety throughout this demanding phase.

03

Intensive Therapeutic Programme

Following stabilisation, female patients engage in FCRC’s intensive therapeutic programme, delivered entirely by female clinical psychologists and therapists. The programme integrates the evidence based approaches most effective for women’s addiction and mental health treatment.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps patients identify and change the thought patterns and behaviours sustaining their addiction or mental health difficulties, building practical coping skills that serve them long after treatment ends. Trauma informed therapy addresses the underlying experiences that drive substance use and mental health struggles in a significant proportion of female patients. At FCRC, this work is conducted with exceptional care, at the patient’s own pace, within a safe and completely confidential therapeutic relationship.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy is particularly effective for female patients dealing with emotional dysregulation, self harm behaviours, and the complex emotional landscape that often accompanies addiction and trauma. Motivational Interviewing builds the patient’s own internal reasons for recovery, working honestly with ambivalence rather than ignoring it. Group therapy, facilitated within the all female environment, provides peer connection and shared accountability. For many women who have become profoundly isolated by their addiction, the experience of being genuinely understood by others who share similar struggles is deeply healing.

04

Psychiatric Assessment and Treatment

All female patients receive a comprehensive psychiatric assessment as part of their programme. A significant proportion of women struggling with addiction also carry undiagnosed mental health conditions, most commonly depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, that have been driving or sustaining their substance use.

FCRC’s dual diagnosis approach treats both conditions simultaneously within a single integrated programme. According to SAMHSA, treating co occurring conditions separately consistently produces poorer outcomes than integrated treatment. At FCRC, female patients receive the full psychiatric support their situation requires, delivered by qualified consultant psychiatrists.

05

Family Involvement

Family relationships are often both a source of pressure and a source of strength for women in recovery. FCRC’s family therapy component involves loved ones in the treatment process carefully and at the patient’s direction, providing psychoeducation, structured family counselling sessions, and practical guidance on supporting recovery without creating pressure or enabling harmful patterns.

For female patients whose family relationships have been strained or damaged by addiction, family therapy provides a structured, clinically guided environment in which the slow work of rebuilding trust can begin.

06

Relapse Prevention and Aftercare

Before every female patient is discharged, she completes a comprehensive relapse prevention programme that identifies her specific triggers, high risk situations, and coping strategies, and establishes a structured post discharge support plan.

Every patient leaves FCRC with a written, personalised aftercare plan. The FCRC team remains available to all former patients for follow up support, guidance, and re-assessment after discharge.

Outpatient Treatment

is available for female patients with lower severity presentations and a stable, supportive home environment. Patients attend FCRC for scheduled therapy sessions, medical reviews, and counselling while continuing to live at home. Our clinical team will recommend the most appropriate format following the initial assessment.

Inpatient and Outpatient Options

FCRC offers femal rehabilitation treatment through both residential inpatient and structured outpatient formats.

Inpatient Residential Treatment

is strongly recommended for moderate to severe addiction and for female patients whose home environment does not provide the safety or support recovery requires. Female patients live within FCRC’s dedicated female unit, a completely private residential space within the Bani Gala facility, for 30, 60, or 90 days, immersed in a structured daily programme of clinical care, therapy, and wellness activities.
